I hate daylight savings time.
I officially showed up to work one hour early this morning. The whole drive there, I was thinking something was off...and then I arrived to a nearly empty parking lot. Got inside, and noticed it was all just security and housekeeping people. I mean, I knew I was 5 or 10 minutes earlier than usual but this was insane...
So I sat down to check my email. Oh yeah. It was 8:30, not 9:30.
Fuck that shit. Arizona has the right idea.
Oh, and now? It’s 5:30 and it’s fucking DARK outside!
Aah!
AND? I finally came up with a last minute idea for a halloween costume. Shot girl! I had the perfect cooler with the perfect holders for shot glasses.
But noooooooooooo. You can’t buy liquor in this state on a Sunday.
Back asswards bullshit.

i'm annoyed.

it's been a while since i've had the house to myself during the day. as in...maybe mid august or so? and all i wanted to do today was curl up on the couch and watch some SATC.

but, of course it has to be fucking sunny today. and in this town, you just feel obligated to go outside when that happens. not that the sun is even that rare - i'd say it tends to come out at least once a day thus far. but dag nabbit, it was supposed to be cloudy and cold and grey in support of my decision.

bah. it NEVER listens to me.

well, some lovely jehovah's witness ladies just stopped by to chit chat. nice and friendly. they asked me(or one of them did) if i knew that god had a vision for peace and that the horrific things going on in the world didn't have to continue.

i said that i don't believe in god, but i have my own vision for peace so i could relate to the concept.

Tuesday October 19, 9 something pm
a few things.
For one, I got offered a full time position at work today. This is lovely because it means I get full benefits. Which really makes no difference in my financial life, but my mom, who lovingly still pays my health insurance, is very excited. I’m just glad they appear to really like me.

For two, I am currently googling things like "canadian visa" and "brazilian residency" to see just what I’m dealing with in 2 weeks should that vile, vile, disgusting, lying evil man be reelected. I think if I thought about November 2nd in detail I’d actually freak out. The fact that an administration who has blatantly lied and cheated to this extreme extent has a chance of retaining office is so frightening to me I can’t even tell you how many facets of life it effects. And yes, it’s gotten to the point where my normally non-judgemental self can honestly say that anyone voting for bush has absolutely no credibility in my eyes from this point on. I understand that we’re all selfish and that those who are currently prospering don’t wish for change. But there are things breeding out there right now that are violent and evil and your posh car and huge home just don’t mean shit if the rest of the world is falling apart. I actually see the end of the world reflected in this man’s eyes. And it’s no Jesus vs. Satan fire and brimstone nightmare where the righteous will be saved and the sinners will burn. It’s a miserably long, depressing, horrible end where our species will wipe itself out - all of us as EQUALS. And hopefully we won't take the rest of the world with us.

I have to stop before this need to vomit gets worse.

i recently decided to make good of a good 4 years of recommendations that i listen to modest mouse. i bought a cd called "the moon and antarctica" and have since been diving into it. i am absolutely in love with the cd. and right now i'm taking the time to go through each song and read the lyrics, and i am blown away.

brilliance, i tell you.
