i avoided the television for the most part yesterday. for the most part i was sickened by ads for products capitalizing on the tragedy that is now known as 9/11.

but.
i did happen to turn on letterman just as clinton was coming on stage. i wish i could remember everything he said. it was so nice..wait, no...it was exhilerating to hear someone speak who knows what the hell he's talking about. and he wasn't reading from a teleprompter. i'm not denying that he probably prepared for his appearance, but the man actually knows what's going on and had opinions on so many matters that actually Make Sense. while there were a few comments that led to a kind of "i got things accomplished when i was in there" feel, he was not disrespectful to bush at all and i think was supportive, while actually helping the public who was watching to understand so many things in such greater detail.

at one point letterman was like "sir, i think you still are the president."

i fucking wish.

i wish he'd speak out more.
