i didn’t get a chance to join you,
kept the door closed,
dealt with my dealings.
you awoke -
i was ready to sleep.
i wanted that time to be spent with you;
i tried to find a place for the slumber to start
and continue.
i didn’t want the importance to be understated.
it’s just been such a long time...
I’ve always known you didn’t go far.
when there’s focus, you always appear.
i WAS glad you were there,
anxious even,
just distracted
and muted.
