i can't even describe how quickly o.a.r. is moving into my heart. way faster than dmb. it's like...at the level of mayer, except there's more substance to the musical aspect of it. they are fanfuckingtastic.

i've gotten like...4 howie shows and 7 dmb shows in the past 2 days, and all i can do is listen to the frickin o.a.r. cd. i'll get about 10 minutes into something else and then have to turn it off.

i DIG this band, yo.

and the funniest part of it is most of the freaks reaction of total disgust. they all HATE them. poor bastards. there are some things that you just feel lucky to "get." and this is one of them.

it's also made me notice something different about east coasters and west coasters. the sublime addiction. 40 oz to freedom was a FUNDAMENTAL album for everyone i know. at some point or another. no matter their musical tastes, everyone adores that album and has gone through many copies. east coasters don't get that. and there's that ska element in o.a.r.'s music that makes it different and gives it that incredible high energy. and i really honestly think that's why none of them like it, as deluded as it may sound.
